A Kozhikode Court in Kerala on Thursday allowed exemption to Meera Jasmine from a personal appearance before it, in a cheating case.
The case relates to a petition filed by film director K Devaraj, who claimed that though Meera had taken Rs 5 lakhs as advance for acting in his film, she had neither acted in the movie nor had she returned the money.
The actress's advocate sought for an exemption from her personal appearance in the Kozhikode Chief Judicial First Class Magistrate court citing frequent travelling, owing to film shooting in as well as out of the State. The case has been posted for September 23rd.
