Courteney Cox has revealed that her estranged husband David Arquette is telling her to "get out there" and date again.
The couple separated in October 2010 after 11 years of marriage but have remained close friends for the sake of their daughter Coco, seven.
In an interview with Anderson Cooper airing this week, the former Friends star talks about the challenges of moving on from the relationship.
Although David has started over and is dating television reporter Christina McLarty, Courteney says she finds it a bit awkward and is having trouble moving on herself.
"Yeah, you know it's hard," she told Anderson. "I probably caught up to this whole situation later than he did."
"And, I am really happy for him and he's got a girlfriend. Everything's great. I know it seems so weird, it's even weird for me to say that."
Courteney became a little emotional as she talked about bringing a new man into her life at the insistence of her ex.
"David said, Courteney, you've got to get out there.' I'm easing my way in," she shared.
The 47-year-old actress has described herself as a "homebody" who doesn't really like going out.
"I don't know how this is going to work," she admitted about her chances of finding a new love.
