(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Daniel Radcliffe has teased that he tells women hes the real Harry Potter in a bid to woo them.

The 21-year-old British actor shot to fame playing the title role in the Harry Potter movie franchise, adapted from the childrens books by author J.K. Rowling.

The franchise is hugely popular across the globe, so Daniel has joked that he uses his celebrity to chase female fans by letting them think hes the genuine Harry and not just an actor.

"I talk to women and tell them that I'm Harry and see where that gets me," he said in a viral for the website Funny or Die.

In the video Daniel jokes that he isnt actually portraying a character in the Harry Potter films, as he truly is a wizard who has to pretend to be the actor Daniel Radcliffe. The star teased that he realised his magical superpowers during the making of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

"It was probably around the time of the fourth film that I kind of started to realise that I was Harry. I thought I was an actor playing a wizard, but really I was a wizard playing an actor," he explained.

"Dan is a fantastic character and I really enjoyed playing him." (C) Cover Media
