Daniel Radcliffe reveals strange' gifts

25th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Daniel Radcliffe has been spooked by a series of bizarre gifts from fans including "Freddy Kruger-like masks".

The 22-year-old British actor gained international celebrity due to his role playing the title character in the Harry Potter wizard movie franchise, whose final instalment Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is currently storming box offices across the globe.

Daniel has been reflecting on the more obscure presents he has received from the franchise's dedicated fans, admitting that some have been rather scary.

"I get sent bizarre Freddy Kruger-like masks. I also got sent a photograph of a milk bottle and a door of a house. It was my house! There were two people standing in front of it, who took a photo of themselves and sent it to my house. There was only a door between us. That was very strange," he told Empire.

"And I was sent a giant ear once which I was told came from a Japanese fan. I mentioned it in a Japanese interview and the whole press conference collapsed into laughter. Apparently, there is a famous Japanese comedian and his thing is the giant ear. They loved that I'd been sent it."

The actor's admirers have also taken the time to make him books honouring his career so far. Daniel is bemused by this, as he tends not to focus his energy on looking back at proud moments, preferring to focus on the future.

"I get a lot of scrapbooks of myself, which always confuses me. Is the perception that when somebody gets famous, all they do at home is sit around reflecting on their fame?" he laughed. (C) Cover Media
