Dannii Minogue: Ive always been happy with my body

1st December 2010

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Dannii Minogue has revealed feeling confident about her body saved her from a load of trouble.

The singer has been subjected to intense public scrutiny about her weight since she shot to fame on Australian television show Home & Away in the 80s. Danniis weight has fluctuated throughout the years, but she has always remained happy with how she looks.

Even though she is constantly compared to her older sister, singer Kylie Minogue, Dannii insists she feels secure about her appearance.

There have been some horrific headlines, she said in an interview with the British edition of Marie Claire. Had I not been confident about myself and my body, I would have been in a load of trouble.

When I first moved to the UK it was hard because it was Kyliemania. She was this cute little thing and I was the fat, ugly sister.

The 39-year-old beauty gave birth to her first child, a son called Ethan, in July and she has been proudly showing off her post-pregnancy figure in a series of stunning gowns in her role as a judge on British talent show The X Factor.

While many women feel unhappy if their weight changes, Dannii has revealed seeing a friend battle an eating disorder when she was growing up made her realise how important a healthy diet and body image is.

Id been very good friends with this girl since primary school. I distinctly remember going into a white hospital room and seeing her lying there, strapped to the bed. I was just a young teenager and it was so horrendous, she recalled. I watched my friend nearly die from anorexia. There was no headline that someone could write about me that would make me do that to myself. (C) Cover Media
