(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl says his daughter doesnt mind him being away for work because she knows it means she will get more toys.

The 42-year-old rocker is frontman of hugely popular band Foo Fighters, but along with conducting a rock and roll lifestyle he is also a firm family man.

Dave is father to daughters Violet Maye, five, and two-year-old Harper Willow, his kids with wife Jordyn Blum.

The rocker says Violet Maye accepts her fathers demanding work regime, as she knows that if he didnt work such long hours she wouldnt get so many presents.

Well, some daddies are lawyers, some are doctors Im a musician, thats my job. And I go to work so that I can make money so we can have food and you can have clothes and you can have toys, recounted Dave, explaining what he told Violet Maye in an interview with telegraph.co.uk.

And she immediately said, I dont have enough toys!

As much as he adores being on stage, Dave loves nothing more than relaxing at home with his loved ones. The rocker is fond of conducting home improvements, and loves self-assembly furniture - although he doesnt read the instructions because of his rebellious and fiercely independent nature.

I mean, I never liked being told what to do. Its one of the reasons I dropped out of school. Give me something to assemble, I wont look at the directions, Ill try to figure it out by myself. Its why I love Ikea furniture, he laughed. (C) Cover Media
