Dave Grohl: My music has fond memories

21st March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl says listening to his music reminds him of his daughter tying door knobs together.

The musician has created a lasting legacy following his stints in legendary rock bands Nirvana and Foo Fighters. As lead singer of Foo Fighters since 1995, Dave has plenty of lasting memories from his time recording music.

When I listen to any of the stuff here I remember things like the day my daughter took the splicing tape and tied all the door knobs together and it was our last roll of tape... that stuff is so hard to find! He joked to Elle magazine before adding, Studio memories are really vivid and they last forever. So when I hear a song on the radio that weve made, I remember that day. I remember what I was wearing, what I ate.

Dave is currently preparing to release the Foo Fighters seventh studio album, Wasting Light. With the entire LP recorded in Daves garage, the vocalist hopes to create a unique sound which cannot be matched using a conventional studio.

Making this album here in the house, that was part of the concept. The experience dictates what the music sounds like, so rather than it being some cold mechanical process that ends up like sheet paper in a book, its more like a real experience that comes through in the way you play your guitar or the way you sing, he added.
