(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl got his wife totally drunk when they first met, because he looks such a mess she wouldnt have spoken to him otherwise.

The musician married Jordyn Blum in 2003, and they have daughter Violet, four, and 22-month-old Harper together. Dave admits hes still amazed he convinced Jordyn to marry him, as things could have been totally different. The 42-year-old wasnt looking his best when they were initially introduced, but managed to win her over by employing a cunning plan.

When I met her, I was wearing disgusting shorts and a T-shirt. Im met up with a friend in this bar on Sunset, where all the waitresses wear bunny outfits. I didnt really want to go, but he was seeing one of the bunny girls, he explained to the April edition of Elle. So we went in and sat down, and these totally hot chicks appear, like a vision my friends date and her friend. They didnt really want to talk to me, probably because I looked so gross, so I did what any man in my position would have done I got them totally drunk.

In the end I wound up writing, Youre my future ex-wife with my number on a piece of paper and giving it to Jordyn.

The pair then began dating, but their romance wasnt plain sailing. Dave who was married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood between 1993 and 1997 had commitment issues, and when things became too serious he stopped getting in touch with Jordyn.

Things eventually changed when Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins suffered a drugs overdose, forcing Dave to think about what he really wanted from his life.

It was bad. Really bad. And it made me put things into perspective, he explained. When we got back to LA, I called her up and said, Lets go out for a drink. Just to wind me up, she appeared wearing a wedding ring... and weve been together ever since. (C) Cover Media
