(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette has stated the comments about his nervous breakdown were a joke.

On Wednesday, the 39-year-old actor made his third appearance on the Howard Stern Show since October when he and actress wife Courteney Cox announced their trial separation.

During the recording on Wednesday David made a host of bizarre revelations, the most shocking being that he thought he was having a nervous breakdown.

Now David has taken to his page on social networking site Twitter to clear up the claims, insisting it was in fact a joke comment which got blown out of proportion.

It is being reported that I'm having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you [I] am not. This stemmed from a joke I made on The Howard Stern Show and like many things in the Media it was mis-reported and sensationalised (sic), he wrote.

David went on to defend his personality, saying he knows hes a good person. The star added he doesnt really mind what the publics perception of him is.

I always speak my mind and I really don't care what people that don't know me may say - I'm a good person with a huge heart, he wrote.

The actor argued people should be more concerned about bigger issues such as the situation in Afghanistan, and urged the public not to worry about his private life. He believes there is too much negativity in the world, which is something he would like to change.

I thank those that have been on my side during this rough time. What I do wish is that we all become more focused on the more important [things] in this world like ending the War in Afghanistan and getting our brave men and women back to their families and out of harms way (sic), he added. Its time for us to focus on Love and positivity in our world so that we can cultivate a culture of caring and creativity.

As well as the nervous breakdown comments, David made a host of other unusual revelations during his Howard Stern Show appearance, including that he and ex-girlfriend Drew Barrymore should make children from a pure breeding standpoint. He also recalled a time at a showbiz party where he called Tom Cruise by the wrong name. (C) Cover Media
