(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette says he stole drugs from his father when he was eight and had his first beer when he was four.
The 39-year-old actor was seen on several wild nights out and gave several bizarre interviews after he announced his trial separation from his wife Courteney Cox Arquette in October. The star entered rehab in January for alcohol and depression issues and has since said he feels like a changed person. David admits he has been battling issues with alcohol for most of his life and has spoken about his earliest memories of drinking.
"When I had my first drink of beer, I must have been four-years-old," the actor said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey due to air today. "I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that. It's one of my earliest memories.
"I seriously started drinking probably when I was about 12. I stole pot from my father when I was eight-years-old."
David decided to seek professional help after his estranged wife Courteney and his sister Patricia Arquette staged an intervention. They were eager for him to clean up his life and he is pleased they persuaded him to enter rehab.
"I came back from Miami and I had taken a nap. I woke up and Patricia and Courteney were at my bed. Courteney had a cup of coffee. I was like, 'What are you two doing here together?' I already knew, he explained.
"Courteney's like, 'Do you mind coming out to the living room for a minute?' I said, 'Sure, let me get dressed.' I peeked my head out [I saw] and my best friend Hartwell and my business partner and some guy I don't know. I go, 'What up, Turkeys? I guess this is my intervention!'"
David has revealed his relationship with 46-year-old Courteney has improved since he completed his stint in a facility. The pair are making every effort to remain on good terms for the sake of their six-year-old daughter, Coco.
We are still great friends and getting along really well," David added. (C) Cover Media
