(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Beckham has joked that Harper Seven will be accompanied by her older brothers when she's old enough to date.

The British soccer star and his wife Victoria welcomed their first daughter into the world last month - meaning Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz have a sister to protect.

David has quipped that the three boys will be called on to chaperone their little sister when she starts dating.

"Well she's got three brothers that'll take her," laughed David when Access Hollywood asked him what will happen when Harper Seven is old enough for romance.

"Three brothers that'll eat with her and three brothers that'll bring her back home and a dad waiting for her. We'll see... that'll be interesting."

David was speaking at the 2011 Do Something Awards in Los Angeles. The ceremony honours social action, and David received the Athlete Award. The sports star explained how he uses his fame for good causes, notably for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

"My wife, being who she is, we have a voice. We can make people aware of the devastation around the world," he smiled.

"Being a UNICEF ambassador is one of proudest things I do in life." (C) Cover Media
