The Festival is coming to an end and it will soon be time for everyone to pack up and leave but the people are nevertheless overboard with excitement about the final two days of the Festival. The 7th day of Mumbai Film Festival began with a lot of gusto. The day was marked with the anticipation, the arrival of Oilivia Harrison (Wife of Grorge Harrison- Beatles), producer of 'George Harrison: Living In The Material World' which was screened in the evening and there was a humongous crowd present to watch it. There was also the Master Class on advertising by Hugh Hudson. 

Mithun Chakraborty, Anurag Basu, Prahlad Kakkar, Bharat Dabholkar, Abbas Tyrewala, Harsh Chhaya, Sagar Ballary, Saurabh Shukla, Dev Benegal, Tanya Abrol (Chak De India Fame) were spotted at the festival venue.

The Open Forum discussion for the day was on 'The state of screen writing today...' and the panel of guests included Vinay Shukla, Saurabh Shukla, Abbas Tyrewala, Sagar Ballary, Dev Benegal and Atul Tiwari. Sagar Ballary said, "We thought no one would notice Bheja Fry. It's important for the director to decide whether he wants to make money or make a good film." Abbas Tyrewala who was quite unhappy about script writing becoming negligible said, "Till the 60's we did have writers, but when the Bachchan era came in, the star became bigger than the script. Everything was catered to the star. Later in the 80's, multiple actors were used to exemplify the script and the script lost its importance further. After the Khan era began somebody discovered the NRI audience and music started becoming more popular, most of the money was recovered by satellite and distribution rights. The ability of storytelling is gone away from the genes". But everything is not always dependant on talent and opportunity, one also needs fate and of course, good contacts. Dev Benegal said something similar to this, "There are some talents who want to challenge mainstream but they don’t know how to break the closed system. One really needs good contacts."

Later in the evening the cast and director of the film 'Nobel Chor', screened today at Mumbai Film Festival was present with lead actor Mithun Chakraborty. He was very pleased with the turn-out for the movie and expressed that a festival is a place where talent and script are more valued than the star.

Day 7 came to an end leaving many discussing about the final day and the closing film 'Dolphin Tale' directed by Charles Martin Smith. Since it is the last day, there is expected to be a large crowd present today. So the guess is that the long hours waiting in the queue will continue even on the final day.
