Ayan Mukerji made an impressive directorial debut with 'Wake Up Sid' produced by Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions. He is known for his easy-going attitude in tinsel town, and so it is not surprising that a lot of his co-stars end up becoming his real-life friends. In fact, Ranbir Kapoor threw a surprise birthday party on the sets of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' for his director and friend Ayan as they shot for the 'Badtameez Dil' (view video) song sequence.

Deepika Padukone too has developed a great rapport with Ayan, and considers him to be a close friend. Commenting on her director-friend Ayan, Deepika called him an inquisitive person, as Ayan always has a lot of questions.

According to Deepika, this could very well be to simply learn more about the latest happenings in the life of the stars and close friends. But Deepika feels that this personality is highly apt for a host and she feels that Ayan would do full justice in the shoes of his mentor Karan Johar with playing a Bollywood show host.

We all know how Karan's 'Koffee' show turned out to be a perfect platform for Deepika, who joined Sonam Kapoor to spill the beans on her ex-Ranbir.
