(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The stars of Desperate Housewives have reportedly signed 12 million deals to stay on the show.

Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria have all agreed to remain with the American television series for two more seasons. They are understood to have conducted pay and contract negotiations over the last few months, resulting in them all working out terms for season eight and nine.

According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, the foursome will each receive 250,000 per episode. We had to get the girls back. The show simply earns too much money to stop making it, a source told the publication.

The discussions reportedly started months ago, but dragged on after Marcia recently started working with a new lawyer. Teri is understood to have worked on her agreement separately to the other women.

Desperate Housewives newcomer Vanessa Williams will also reprise her role for series eight, although it remains unclear whether creator-and-executive-producer Marc Cherry will be involved. He is working on a new show called Hallelujah and has previously stated season seven would be his last.

At the moment, the women net 180,000 per episode. The reports of their new salary are yet to be confirmed, and there are conflicting rumours they are actually signed to received 11 million each.

The show follows a group of women who live on the same street in America and are close friends. Teri plays scatty Susan Mayer, Felicity is mother-of-five Lynette Scavo, Marcia portrays clean-freak Bree Van de Kamp and Eva is sexy housewife Gabrielle Solis. (C) Cover Media
