Diane Keaton: I never thought I'd be a soccer mom

15th September 2012

Diane Keaton has "never included anything athletic" in her existence until she became a mother.

The 66-year-old actress and single mom cares for two adopted children daughter Dexter, 15, and son Duke, 10.

Diane has an illustrious Hollywood career and admits that she never really paid attention to sports.

Now that her kids are participating in sporting activities, Diane's life has completely transformed.

"My life never included anything athletic," she told Extra.

"Dexter is a swimmer. Five in the morning, I take her swimming every day. Duke is a tennis player. I've become a sports oriented person. Never was I interested in anything like that at all."

The Father of the Bride actress has dated a string of stars including Warren Beatty and Al Pacino but never found someone serious.

Diane has spoken previously about why she chooses to be single.

"I never found a home in the arms of a man," she said in an AARP The Magazine interview earlier this year.

"I think it was just my whole life. How I responded first to boys and then to men. It had nothing to do with reality. Relationships are hard. You're lucky if you find someone."
