Dolly Parton avoids fairground rides

18th June 2012

Dolly Parton is reluctant to try out the rides at Dollywood because she has "too much to lose".

The voluptuous country music legend has a family amusement park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Although the venue offers a series of exciting rides, Dolly insists she will never be spotted on the more daring ones.

"I don't do the rides because people say I have too much to lose, like my hair and my reputation," she quipped to UK TV show Daybreak.

Dolly is one of the most successful female country music artists of all time. The 66-year-old star has been performing since she was a child and has fans all over the world.

The witty singer was quizzed on whether she would consider using her fame to move into politics.

"No way! I hate politics. Someone said, Would you consider running for president here in the United States?' And I said, No, I think we have enough boobs in the White House.' I don't think so," she laughed.

Although Dolly is grateful for her loyal supporters, she feels happiest spending time with loved ones away from the public spotlight.

"Nobody can be alone all the time," she replied when asked if she has any privacy. "I enjoy it, when I am out there in public I belong to the public, and if I go to a party I have a good time. But preferably I would just rather be at home, I am very close to my family. I have a lot of little nieces and nephews and we do a lot of babysitting, a lot of fun things that we do. I am very private."
