Dolly Parton keen to serenade Prince William

13th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dolly Parton would love to sing a duet with Sir Elton John at the British royal wedding.

The country music legend is a huge fan of Prince William and his fiance Kate Middleton and would be honoured if she could serenade the happy couple when they tie the knot on April 29. Dollys ballad I Will Always Love You is a popular first song for newlyweds to dance to and she thinks it would be perfect for William and Kate.

Wouldnt that be great?! No one has asked me about that, but I might offer that up, she said during an interview with British television show Lorraine when asked about singing at the royal wedding. Whitney Houston might sing it, or I will I would do anything for them. Elton John could play for me and I could sing the song, or he could sing a duet with me. I am sure he has been invited; I havent been invited to the wedding. I will just watch it at home on TV. I think it is wonderful, very romantic.

Dolly has been performing since she was ten and has enjoyed success with a number of ventures. Despite her lengthy music career, the 65-year-old star doesnt feel she would be able to judge other peoples talents. Even though she has been approached several times to appear as a judge on talent shows, she couldnt face ruining someone elses dreams.

I have been asked to do things like that but I couldnt, she replied when asked if she would consider joining Simon Cowells new X Factor television show in the US. I couldnt judge people, I am too tender hearted and I know those people are serious despite how bad some of them are. I know they wouldnt be there if they didnt think they were good and it would break my heart if I saw that look on somebodys face if I said they werent good enough. I couldnt sleep a wink, so I would rather not be a judge. But I love Simon Cowell, at least he is honest. (C) Cover Media
