The 63-year-old singer died last week after a battle with lung cancer.

Music producer David Foster and several of her industry comrades attended the private ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.

TMZ posted a picture of the late singer's casket being taken to its final resting place after the moving invitation-only service.

Around 1,000 people attended the funeral to pay their respects to the five-time Grammy winner.

Donna is survived by her husband Bruce Sudano, their daughters; Brooklyn and Amanda, her daughter Mimi from a previous relationship and four grandchildren.

Her casket was covered in white roses but the family asked for loved ones to donate to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.

The singer will be best remembered for her hits Last Dance, She Works Hard for the Money, Hot Stuff, Bad Girls and Love to Love You Baby.

Her album sales have soared 3277% since her death, according to Billboard. (C) Cover Media
