September 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Late Kannada film star Dr. Vishnuvardhana's wife, Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhana is preparing for a three day film festival to commemorate the birth anniversary of her husband on September 18th.
A lot of discussions were conducted regarding the festival and it was decided that 12 films of the late actor will be screened for three days at Inox, Kapali and Prasanna theatres in Bangalore. The fans of the actor Vishnuvardhana can watch the movies free of cost and entry will be on a first come first serve basis.
The Kapali and Prasanna theatre were included considering the huge number of fans, who cannot be accommodated at Inox that has only 227 seats.
The distributor of the recently released Kannada movie Kari Chirathe has agreed to vacate the screen for 7.30 shows on September 18th and 19th. One of the 12 films will also be screened at the Prasanna theatre on Magadi Road, which has been vacated for one show of Dr Vishnuvardhana's film.
Five persons from each of the films will be felicitated with a smiling Buddha with radium light. The late actor's son in law Anirudh was quoted saying that a 30 feet cut out of the late actor will be placed in Inox in Garuda Mall.
Smt. Nagalakshmi Puttanna Kanagal will be inaugurating the 60th birth anniversary Dr. Vishnuvardhana.
Veteran actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha will grace the event on September 19 as the chief guest. He will be accompanied by actor Ambarish and Sumalatha Ambarish.
The organizers are also planning to conduct a blood donation camp on this occasion with the support of Rotary Club, Red Cross, and Halappa Foundation. An eye donation camp will also be organized.
A mass luncheon will also be conducted on September 18, 2010 at the memorial place of Dr Vishnuvardhana near Balakrishna Studio.
