(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elijah Wood says people expect him to be a f**king d*ck after the success of The Lord of the Rings.

The American actor is best known for his high-profile role as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's highly-acclaimed fantasy trilogy.

The 30-year-old star, who remains humble about his success, claims people are surprised when they meet him and realise he is "personable".

"You know what's amazing? And this has happened my entire life, especially after Rings: I meet people and I work with them and they say God, you're so nice and personable and approachable' as if it's a big surprise. But it's like, What do you expect me to be?" he mused in an interview with Nylon Guys magazine. "Just because I've been lucky enough to have a certain amount of success and be recognisable, that doesn't make me any better or different.

"I'm just being a person the only way I can conceive of being is cool to people. I don't wanna be a f**king d*ck!"

Elijah has revealed he currently has a penchant for TV programmes. The star, who appears as Ryan in FX's dark comedy Wilfred, says he was drawn to the idea of starring in a television series because of the amount of time a character has to develop.

"Some of my favourite viewing of late has been television shows," he admitted. "Mad Men, Breaking Bad, True Blood. All of these incredible actors have come to the medium look at Boardwalk Empire and I started to become very intrigued by television, but the idea of doing something of a high quality standard with the ability to expand a character over a certain amount of time."
