(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elizabeth Banks says she will be taking control of the barbecue this Memorial Day.

The Hunger Games actress is among many Americans who will be grilling for the unofficial start of summer today and on the holiday to honour war veterans.

Elizabeth took to her blog to reveal who would be in charge in her household.

"Unlike my husband, many guys think they are kings of the grill," she wrote paying homage to female chefs. "In my house, I crush the grilling and this Memorial Day is no different."

The 38-year-old also jokingly chastised her son on Twitter for not letting her get a few more hours sleep.

"Doesn't my kid realise it's a holiday and he can sleep in?" she tweeted. "Dude, it's Memorial Day. Chill out and re-laxxxx. #babies."

Elizabeth welcomed son Felix via a surrogate last year and gushed to Redbook recently about becoming a mother.

"I think the thing you always hear but can't really feel or believe is how this little baby really does change your life," she said. "When you have children, it's the entire focus of your life, but my capacity for joy has been opened up in a way I never thought possible." (C) Cover Media
