(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ellen DeGeneres is a fan of her wife Portia de Rossi's new look.

The couple have been married since August 2008.

Portia has had long hair for years, but debuted her new incredibly short locks last week.

Ellen supports the drastic hairstyle change.

"It's adorable," she told Bethenny Frankel on an upcoming episode of the reality star's new talk show Bethenny. "[Portia] wanted to do it for a long time and grew up modeling, and of course you're supposed to have long hair. Everyone told her never to cut her hair. I think it just got to be part of her. [She] really, really wanted to do it for a long time and decided to."

It appears to Ellen that Portia, 39, is feeling quite emancipated at the moment.

"[Portia's] liberated," Ellen explained. "[She] got a tattoo recently and that opened the door to everything."

Ellen has recently had the opportunity to thank President Barack Obama for supporting homosexual marriage.

"I said to him, thank you so much for what you're doing," Ellen recalled. "He said, 'I'm just doing the right thing.' I said, 'I know. You are doing the right thing.' " (C) Cover Media
