19th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ellie Goulding can't stop smiling after performing at Britain's Prince William's wedding last month.

The 24-year-old British star delivered a version of Your Song when William and his new bride Catherine Middleton took to the floor for their first dance at Buckingham Palace on April 29. Ellie still can't believe she was chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to entertain their wedding guests and insists it will be an experience she will never forget.

"It was amazing. I am just really smiley because it was awesome, it was awesome," she said in an interview for British television show Lorraine. "Tinie Tempah introduced me to Prince William at a festival last year and we were really good friends so it was just a crazy situation. But one of those moments you will remember for a long time."

Ellie is currently working hard to try and make it in America and her connection to the British royal family has attracted a lot of attention Stateside. Her recent appearance on American television show Saturday Night Live has also helped to raise her profile in the US.

The star is about to begin work on her new album, but has revealed she will be regularly travelling back and forth this summer.

"I didn't expect to be going back [to America] so soon, but the tour sold out and I did Saturday Night Live which was really nerve wracking. It is a pretty big thing, I didn't know much about it, but it is kind of an institution so doing that was a real honour. I was so nervous but something helped me get through it, once I got up on the stage I had to compose myself because millions of people were watching," she explained. "I am definitely going to have to been back and forth because my album is coming to an end here and I am starting my new album next week. And then in America it is just beginning, it is a really bizarre situation to be in. We haven't even released a single in America but we have sold quite a few albums now, which is quite strange."
