Emily Blunt happy to switch off phone

9th July 2012

Emily Blunt is a "big fan" of turning off her phone as much as possible.

The British actress understands it is important for her to keep working while she is demand. In part that is because she doesn't have a back-up in place if her career falters.

"No, I don't have a plan b. But I do know how to occupy myself outside from work. I read a lot, I love cooking and I am a big fan of switching off my phone," she laughed to German magazine Teleschau.

Emily spends most of her time in Los Angeles but has been careful not to get too sucked into Hollywood.

She chooses roles based on what her gut tells her, joking it is as reliable a method as anything else.

Although Emily and her husband John Krasinski are happy in America, there are some aspects of the country the actress can't get used to.

"Of course I miss England. But there is no sense in living there if you work the whole time in America," she said. "[The things I dislike the most are] the bad chocolate and driving on the wrong side of the road. My car is full of bruises and bumps - it is a catastrophe."
