(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eva Longoria reportedly split from Eduardo Cruz because he wouldn't "commit" on the level she hoped for.

The Desperate Housewives actress, 37, called it quits with her toy-boy lover Eduardo earlier this month after a year together.

According to reports, the 27-year-old brother of Penelope Cruz didn't feel ready to settle down, which ultimately led to the relationship's demise.

"Eva had been asking Eduardo for more commitment in recent months and with Desperate Housewives finishing soon, she broached the subject of marriage and babies," a source told British magazine Closer.

"But Ed is so much younger than Eva and told her that it might happen in a few years.'"

Eva reportedly gave her beau an ultimatum about their situation, but in the end it was their conflicting passions that reportedly sealed the end of their relationship.

"Eva told him that it was either marry and start a family, or split. The arguing tore them apart in the end," the source continued.
