Eva Longoria celebrated her birthday with a host of famous friends this week.

The Desperate Housewives actress turns 37 today, but decided to mark her special day on Tuesday. Eva was spotted "holding court" as she enjoyed dinner at Cut by Wolfgang Puck at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in California, reports New York Post.

The star was joined by six guests including actor Kevin Connolly, presenter Mario Lopez and his fiance Courtney Mazza. Although her friends were happy to tuck into hearty meat dishes at the restaurant, Eva opted for a lighter meal.

"Witnesses said they shared appetizers, but while her friends dined on steaks and scallops, Eva stuck to the butter lettuce salad with olive oil," the publication added.

Eva's spirits seemed high and she appears to be enjoying her new single status.

The beauty is believed to have split from her boyfriend Eduardo Cruz earlier this month.

Just weeks after celebrating their one year anniversary with a romantic boat trip in Miami, the pair reportedly ended their relationship and Eduardo returned to Spain.

"It was a mutual decision. They are staying friends," a source told Us Weekly. "She's focusing on work and the end of Desperate Housewives."
