Shankar started his career in Kollywood as an assistant to S A Chandrasekaran, the father of Vijay. So he is naturally happy to direct his mentor’s son in ‘Nanban’, which is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’.
“‘Nanban’ has shaped up very well. Everyone watching the film would love Vijay and his character. The actor has given his best to the role. Equally good are the other two protagonists- Jiiva and Srikanth,” says the director.
“We’ve successfully completed the film but for some patch work, which will be shot in the first week of September. I feel ‘Nanban’ has shaped out very well in all aspects. The highlight of the film will be its characters and the excellent performances of the artists in it,” he says.
The ‘mega director’ of Kollywood adds: “ It’s going to be a treat watching Vijay, Jiiva, Sathyaraj, Srikanth, Sathyan, Ileana altogether. Every scene is edited and dubbed till date. I am eagerly looking forward for ‘Nanban’s release.”
