In recent times, it has become a fad to release MGR's and Shivaji's old films and these films are doing very well at the box-office. Many of MGR's films like 'Ulagam Suttrum Valiban', 'Ninaithathai Mudippavan' and 'Enga Veetu Pillai', to name a few, were released recently. Similarly, Shivaji Ganeshan's films like 'Vasantha Maaligai', 'Puthiya Paravai', 'Ooty Varai Varavu', 'Thyagam, Raja' and 'Thanga Padakkam' are being re-released.

Now the film 'Rajapart  Rangadurai' which has Shivaji in the lead role, has been released in Shanthi theatre. Huge cutouts of Shivaji have been placed in the front of the theatre and fans are anointing these cutouts with milk. The fans have broken 208 coconuts and also burst crackers. Y G Mahendran, along with his family, had come to the theatre to see this film. The theatre was house full.
