The world is in awe of the multi-talented Priyanka Chopra, who ventured into singing after proving her mettle as an actress for more than a decade. But not many know that it was her industry mate Farhan Akhtar, who actually pushed her to take up singing professionally.
Farhan too ventured into music late in his career, hence when he came across PC's talent almost a decade back, he insisted that she take up singing. He recently revealed the story behind this.
"I remember, around Don 2 (2006), I had heard her singing. She had recorded a cover song and made me hear it. She just told me that she wanted me to hear something, and then gave me the headphones. I said, 'Wow, who is this?' to which she replied that it was her voice. I told her to sing professionally, which she finally did," he said with a hint of pride which stems for the fact that she indeed took his advice and excelled in it.
He also added that it was on his suggestion, that she started performing live too.
"I urged her to perform live, and now, she's doing that too," said a smiling Farhan who has directed her in 'Don' series and will soon share screen with her in Zoya Akhtar's 'Dil Dhadakne Do'.
The duo in fact has come together for a duet that will feature in the film."It's nice that we got to do a song together. She's a great singer," she concluded.
