The two Republic Day releases Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' and the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Thackeray' clashing at the box office. 

Released with a wide opening of 3000 screens this Kangana film appears as the clear winner and has raked close to 50 crore mark on its fifth day. Whereas, Thackeray biopic has only raked 13 cr excluding the Marathi version which would make the film stand at around 30 cr mark. The Marathi version is dominating with blazing numbers compared to Hindi version. Fri 6 cr, Sat 10 cr, Sun 6.90 cr. Total: ₹ 22.90 cr opening weekend box-office figure. A family Entertainer, film continues to hold steady on positive word of mouth. Zee Studios' Manikarnika -The Queen of Jhansi crossed 2 million USD in overseas markets. The second-weekend collection would be crucial for both the films to sustain at the box office.
