Gerard Butler says getting romantically involved with co-stars is a "dangerous path".
The heartthrob is one of Hollywood's most famous bachelors.
The 42-year-old says it is easy to fall in love when you are working so closely with someone.
"That's a dangerous path," he said in an interview with Hello! "When you're making a film with someone, you get to know them very well indeed, and it's too easy to develop a sort of obsession with them that you think at the time might be love. But it isn't."
Gerard has been linked with a number of actresses such as Jessica Biel, Ashley Greene, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
The actor has learned his lesson from past experiences.
"Earlier in my career I had a couple of relationships with co-stars and both times it was a disaster," he sighed. "It burned itself out in the middle of the film and that it is really, really uncomfortable, spending more than half your day working with someone you've just broken up with. No, I can wait. Like I say, it'll happen when it happens."
