Gwyneth Paltrow: Family meals are important

20th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow says having a glass of wine while her kids tell fart jokes is the best thing in her life.

The actress is currently promoting her new cookbook My Fathers Daughter, which was inspired by her late father Bruce Paltrow who died in 2002. She hopes the tome will show people how easy it is to make tasty and nutritious food and is keen to show that is something everyone can aspire to.

Anybody can have this, it doesnt matter if youre having a really hard time, if youre not where you want to be money-wise or success-wise, if youre having a really nice glass of wine some homemade food and your kids telling a fart joke, thats the best thing in life, she said.

Bruce loved cooking and eating with his family and Gwyneth inherited his passion for cuisine. Most of her favourite early memories come from meal times with her loved ones, which is something she also wants for her family. The star is married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin and they have kids Apple, six, and five-year-old Moses together.

Its like, Im a busy mom and I work and I think its so important to make food for your family and the people you love and just to have that time together, she told US talk show host Rachael Ray. Its something my dad taught me and it was really the impetus for the book because when wed all gather around the table it was the high point of the day. (C) Cover Media
