Halle Berry believes being chased by the paparazzi is "just wrong."

The actress has four-year-old daughter Nahla with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The pair are embroiled in a bitter custody dispute and it was recently reported that Gabriel plans to contest Halle's plans to move to France with her fianc Olivier Martinez.

Although a family court judge has yet to sanction the relocation, Halle was seen checking out preschools in the Paris last month for Nahla.

The star believes that her life is encroached upon way too much in Los Angeles.

"It's not one photographer hiding in the bushes, it's 20, 30 very close to us, causing commotion," Halle explained to Extra. "I'm not complaining about me. I'm an adult; I can handle it. But children should not be subject to that. It's just wrong."

Halle thinks she will be better able to shield her daughter from the media spotlight in France.

"Yeah, there are laws like [that] in France, which is the reason I want go there," Halle revealed. "Laws that protect children, protect right to privacy. All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life. When I'm not at work, that's very important to me."

Halle and Olivier are understood to have got engaged over the Christmas holidays, with Olivier confirming their engagement in March.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that one of the reasons Gabriel is unsure about Halle's moving plans is because he fears being pushed out of his daughter's life.

Radar Online claims the model is fearful that Halle wants Olivier to adopt Nahla if they move to France.
