(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Halle Berry's ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry requests an increase in child support.

The Canadian model and the Academy Award-winning actress have been embroiled in an ongoing custody dispute over their four-year-old daughter Nahla.

TMZ reports that Gabriel came to court Thursday morning to request a half a million dollars in lawyers fees and $20,000 a month in child support from Halle.

Gabriel was prepared to plead his case, but the judge asked for a continuance on the matter as paperwork was filed incorrectly. The model was reportedly dismayed that he must argue at a later date.

Gabriel is said to believe that he needs the money in order to provide a hospitable environment for daughter Nahla.

Halle has petitioned the court to move to France with Nahla and her fianc Olivier Martinez. Should Halle be granted legal authorisation to relocate abroad, the move would directly impact Gabriel's care of Nahla, as the pair share custody of their daughter.

It may take the judge up to a year to reach a verdict on Halle's potential move to Europe.

The actress was recently seen checking out preschools in Paris for Nahla. (C) Cover Media
