14th December 2017

'Secret Superstar' actress Zaira Wasim has been in the news recently after reporting a harassment incident while coming back to Mumbai from Delhi in Vistara flight. The 17-year old actor said that a passenger sitting behind her put his feet over her right from behind. She even went live on Instagram and narrated the un-certain incident happened to her on the flight and was continuously crying during the entire live narration.

Since then, the industry members stood with Zaira and supported her strongly. One of the famous faces of industry Kangana Ranaut stood firmly with Zaira and said, ''We should encourage women and not judge them when they speak about harassment. The backlash this young girl is getting is so upsetting. Instead of criticizing a girl for speaking up, people are judging and questioning her,'' at an event held to launch Shobhaa De’s book.

When asked isn't she scared to get into controversies for speaking her opinion she said, "If I don't talk, someone else will. It is not that if I don't talk and act like an ostrich, no one will bring it to notice. I have always had options (to let things go) but I won't succumb to that."

Adding up to this, she said, "The intention is never to be disliked. There might be a wrong impression of me for taking a stand today but maybe 10-14 years down the line, I know I will be respected for my stand and my convictions, if not loved."

According to the recent reports, the person who was arrested for molesting actress Zaira Wasim has been sent to judicial custody until December 22.
