The notion of a 'Big Fat Indian Wedding' goes like this, flowers from Bangkok, cutlery from Europe, chandeliers from China, and the list continues. But for Ram Charan and Upasana, their wedding decor has a human touch.

The couple have hired artisans from the state and other parts of the country to prepare and put together all the decorations, starting from the mandap to the lights in order to create employment for them.

Event stylist Dinaz Noria, who is taking care of the decor for the couple's wedding ceremonies reveals, "Both Charan and Upasna were keen on generating employment through their wedding rather than just opting for those lavish sets. They would pick designs that would involve the most number of artisans."

Talking about the decorations, they came across these unique looking glass balls hanging from the ceilings. When asked, Dinaz said, "An unusual art form of suspending hand-blown glass from ceilings was showcased by a team from National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad here. This art form is being used in the wedding. A Nandi is being put together with lotus-shaped hand-blown glass balls made by artisans from Moradabad and Firozabad.”

The flower weaving will be done by people from Marathawada in Maharashtra and florists from various parts of the country like Coimbatore are roped in.

The theme that is decided for the wedding is 'Shiva-Parvathi' as Upasana is a Shiv Bhakt. They have decided to have a Shiva mandir near the madap where all the pre-wedding pujas will take place.

The couple have also asked not to brings any gifts and those who want to can donate them as charity to Upasana's charity foundation, Save a Child's Heart Initiative (SACHI).
