Aamir Khan-- He is one actor who doesn't need an introduction. He is not just an actor but also, a director, producer and a Padma Shri & Padma Bhushan Award recepient.
Born on March 14, 1965, it is Aamir Khan's 47th Birthday today and there is no stopping the man from his love for acting. After a three year hiatus from films, i.e. after Three Idiots, Aamir Khan will soon be seen this year in the lead role as a cop, in his movie Talaash. After Sarfarosh, this is the second time that he will be playing a cop.
Aamir Khan, a man known for the roles he takes up and a man who has grown over the span of his career might have had few hits to his name but that is not because the rest of his movies don't work; it is because he does only few movies which are hits. And Aamir makes sure each of his role is different and so are his looks.
In the beginning of his career, Aamir was the cute, chocolate boy with boyish looks, long hair and sparkling eyes. His mischievous roles in the movies like Andaz Apna Apna, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke are evergreen.
Then came his rowdy look through Rangeela, Raja Hindustani and Ghulam. His Hinglish in these movies became very popular and "Aati Kya Khandala...", the song from Ghulam, is still used as a pick-up line by many youngsters.
Suddenly after this, Aamir became choosey about his roles. A couple of serious roles, in serious movies like Sarfarosh and 1947: Earth won him many accolades and fans as well.
But none of the movies gave him as much recognition as the 2001 movie Lagaan. Aamir's Bhuvan, charmed not only Indians, but also opened the gateway to Oscars for the Best Foreign Language film from India.
After Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai was his next successful movie. A young, dashing looking Aamir brought back some of his old-time mischievousness to this role.
Aamir's jump from being a carefree youngster to a National hero in Mangal Pandey: The Rising is extremely admirable. But sadly, this film didn't fare that well at the box-office.
Rang De Basanti showed a different side of Aamir Khan. With a look similar to that in Fanaa, Aamir Khan won several awards for his role in the movie. Both, Rang De Basanti and Fanaa did wonders at the box-office.
After Lagaan, Aamir Khan's next movie from his home production was Taare Zameen Par which released in 2007. This was another serious role from Aamir and it was extremely well-received.
But with Ghajini, Aamir Khan not only received a lot of praise for his role, but also introduced the Ghajini-haircut. Aamir's this look was copied by many young boys and thus he set a new fashion trend.
Aamir Khan's last film, three years back was Three Idiots. The movie was a huge hit. Aamir Khan was seen as a college student in this film and despite his age, he passed-off easily as a college-going boy.
In his latest film Talaash, Aamir Khan will again be seen in a new look where he is sporting a moustache. It is comendable how Aamir Khan looks different in each of his roles and fits the characters perfectly.
Fridaymoviez wishes Aamir Khan a Very Happy Birthday and may we get to see many more different looks of Aamir for many more years to come.
