His show Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway will run for ten weeks, beginning next month.

The Tony Award-winning star will perform a selection of his favourite musical numbers accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra.

"I can't believe it's been seven years since I was singing and dancing on Broadway," Hugh said. "There is nothing like performing on the Great White Way and I'm so excited to be coming home.'"

He will perform songs from productions including Oklahoma!, Carousel and Dreamgirls and also reflect on his stage and movie career.

His show will begin previews on October 25 and run until Jan 1 2012 at The Broadhurst Theater. The official opening night has been scheduled for November 10.

Hugh is no stranger to the theatre, having previously starred in The Boy From Oz in 2003 and A Steady Rain in 2009.

The show received rave reviews when it came to Toronto over the summer and also enjoyed a stint in San Francisco last year.

Hugh recently revealed he is considering taking the production to the West End theatre district in the UK next spring. (C) Cover Media
