(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hugh Jackman "pretty much wings it" when it comes to choosing film roles.
The 42-year-old Australian movie star has enjoyed a varied movie and theatre career. Hugh says he doesn't really follow a "process" when it comes to pursuing film scripts.
"There should probably be more process I'm pretty much winging it," he told Empire magazine.
"There was a time, early on, after X-Men, where I made the decision to try different genres, but never to headline something on my own. So I did Swordfish, Someone Like You.... Movies where it was never just my name on the poster. I didn't suddenly want to put myself out there, when I didn't know what I was doing.
"That was the only time I strategised."
Hugh insists he plans more nowadays.
While the Hollywood hunk used to like experimenting with film genres, he now chooses more specific roles.
"These days, I suppose I'm looking for particular types of projects. A movie musical was something I was after for years. I found it in Les Mis which I'm shooting in London next year. But generally, I'm trying to find things that are classical and old-school," he explained.
"Cary Grant kind of roles." (C) Cover Media
