Hugh Jackman: My friends don't tolerate divas

10th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hugh Jackman avoids being unpleasant because he'd get his "b***s busted royally" by those around him.

The actor is one of Hollywood's best known faces and is regularly hailed as one of the best looking men in the film industry.

Despite his popularity, Hugh maintains grounded. The 42-year-old hunk puts his unpretentious nature down to the fact he was brought up around people who do not tolerate arrogance.

"Well, I meditate twice a day I started that 20 years ago and that's the thing that changed my life," he said when asked how he manages to stay so grounded.

"But I think being Australian has helped. In Australia, probably even more than England, you're not given a free pass just because you're an actor, sports star or whatever. If you're a w****r, you're a w****r.

"Australians take that to a whole other level you get your b***s busted royally."

Hugh learned to remain grounded from friend and fellow film star John Travolta. His practical approach to showbusiness stems from John's wide words.

"John Travolta said to me on the set of Swordfish, Fame exacerbates who you are, because it gives you more opportunities to be more so.' He was right. If you're not a good guy, you're given more free passes to not be a good guy," he explained in an interview with Empire magazine. (C) Cover Media
