I am not producing any film: A L Vijay

8th October 2012

Film director A. L. Vijay has denied reports that he would be turning a producer for now and his maiden venture would be directed by Ponusamy, who fought a legal battle with him over the story rights for 'Thaandavam'.

It was reported that when the case was going on, director Bharathiraaja held a meeting with the members of the council and also with Vijay and Ponnusamy. He proposed a truce and a possible solution that was discussed, was that Vijay could produce Ponnusamy’s first film.

Vijay has denied all the report as false.

He said, "We fought the battle in court and won it. The only similarity between the two stories was that the hero was visuallly-challenged".

"Ponnusamy is a talented script-writer and I am confident that he would leave his mark in the industry", added Vijay.

On his latest release 'Thaandavam', Vijay said, "I am happy with the way people received the movie. It has managed a huge collection and the credit should go to my team and producer UTV Films. Vikram is one of the rare actors who gives his best in any role. For 'Thaandavam', he worked hard and this was visible on screen. I share a good rapport with him and our chemistry worked well".

On his next film, he says, "I will be starting my next with Vijay soon. Pre-production works have begun. It would be a commercial entertainer and film-buffs will love it".
