27th April 2013

Emraan Hashmi has been in the industry for more than a decade now. Though he has always been a masses superstar, it is only in recent times that the actor has been getting his due attention from the industry as well.

Bollywood has woken up to his talent and he has been finally getting his due success. Emraan has been working with some of the biggest banners in the industry and he is content with the way his career has been shaping up in recent times.

"As an actor I was not accepted for the longest time. However that didn't dishearten me. I never compared myself with any other actors because of which I was never disappointed. I never had any game plan and took whatever came my way," said Emraan.

He too confesses that the recognition came to him a bit late, "I have started getting my due. I am very happy that filmmakers like Vishal Bharadwaj and Karan Johar have started approaching me. I was criticized for my pick of roles but during these years I created a new genre of mainstream films. Our mainstream films are mostly family dramas or comedies but my films have always been different from the rest," he added.

After getting praises for his performance in the film 'Ek Thi Daayan', he is currently gearing up for 'Ghanchakkar' where he stars opposite Vidya Balan.

Post the release of the film he will start shooting for Karan Johar's home production 'Ungli' and a Hollywood film for Bosnian director Danis Tanovic.
