Actress Meena gave birth to a girl on January 2 in Chennai. The baby was born at around 11.30 in the morning. Mother and baby are in good health. Meena had got married in July 2009 to Vidyasagar, a software engineer from Bangalore. It was the actress' mother who gave the news to the media. The actress will remain in the hospital for a few more days before returning home. Meena's mother speaks that the baby's naming ceremony will begin soon after they get discharged from the hospital. She said that the name will be chosen on the basis of the baby's birth nakshatra. Meanwhile, on the career front, Meena is waiting for the results of 'Thambikottai'.
