'Mary Kom' has entered the 100 crore club making Sanjay Leela Bhansali the third consecutive 100-crore grosser after 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Ram-Leela'.
Bhansali Productions was commercially successful and critically acclaimed for its 1999 hit 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and ever since then the filmmaker has delivered hits at the box office, which made history.
He says, "Mary Kom's story was an inspiring one and our aim was to tell this beautiful story to as many people as possible. The fact that it has reached so many people is something we are extremely proud of and I'm thankful to the audience for vouching for the film".
The versatile actress Priyanka Chopra proved her mettle by breaking all the box office records with 'Mary Kom'. Before the biopic filmed on an ace Indian boxer Mary Kom, it was 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Ram-Leela' which went on to collect a big moolah at the ticket windows.
Known as a task master, Bhansali is now all set to start off with the remake of south-blockbuster Ramana, which is slated to release on April 3 2015. Along with this, his another ambitious projects 'Bajirao Mastani' has already gone on floor and is scheduled to release next year.
