Sometimes she is the free spirited ‘Geet’ from ‘Jab We Met’  while sometimes she is a fashionista ‘Pooh’ from K3G and sometimes, she is the intense sex worker from ‘Chameli’. We have seen her play diverse characters with ease and prove her acting versatility time and again. Yes, we are talking about the beautiful and talented actress Kareena Kapoor.  Today, Bebo turns a year older!

Born on 21st September, 1977, into the Kapoor Khandaan, known for churning out stars like, Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and so on, acting to her would have come naturally. However, entering into the Hindi film industry was not a cake walk for this Kapoor. Opposition from the Kapoor family, huge responsibility of the Kapoor tag attached to the name and an elder sister who had already proven her acting prowess, all this came along with Bebo. Conquering all the difficulties, Kareena made her debut with J. P. Dutta's ‘Refugee’.  The movie gave her a lot of critical recognition and her simplicity and beauty touched many hearts. Though, the success part didn’t last for long for Kareena as she delivered a series of flop thereafter.

Over the years, Kareena matured as an actress and went on to do films like Asoka, Yuva, Chameli, Dev and Omkara to name a few.  But the turning point in her career came with the movie ‘Jab We Met’ opposite ex-beau Shahid Kapoor, which was a super hit among the audience. Her character Geet in the movie became a new phenomenon. Kareena won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the movie.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Bebo started dating Chote Nawab aka Saif Ali Khan and the couple was soon named as ‘Saifeena’ by their fans.

Recently Kareena also bagged the honor to have a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum in London.
