(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Franco has admitted that he once made a sex tape with an ex-girlfriend.

The American actor appeared on Conan O'Brien's late night chat show last night where he made the confession.

But the 33-year-old star confessed it was not the best idea he ever had.

"I just got a video camera and my girlfriend and I decided to film ourselves," he explained.

"Exclusive. We watched it back and said, Yeah well, let's never watch that again."

However, The Rise of the Planet of the Apes star said that he never had any intention in making a career out of adult films.

James says despite not wanting to be a star of the industry, he respects the actors for being entertaining and professional.

"It's not like I went down to Van Nuys and tried to break into the porn industry!" he laughed.

"I'll tell you what's wrong. Those people in the pornos, they are great performers; they're selling it to an audience."

James is currently riding high at the US box office with Rise of the Planet of the Apes which brought in an impressive $54 million on its opening weekend. (C) Cover Media
