(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Van Der Beek and his new wife are backpacking through Israel for their honeymoon because the thought of drinking cocktails at a beach resorts makes them “stir crazy”.

The 33-year-old actor married model Kimberly Brook in a spiritual ceremony in Tel Aviv earlier this month. James and Kimberly are devout followers of Kabbalah, an offshoot of Judaism, and are choosing to spend the days following their wedding travelling to some of Israel’s holiest sites.

It isn’t a traditional choice for newlyweds, but James says the getaway is perfect for him and Kimberly because they can’t bear the thought of relaxing at a beach resort with other couples.

“We’re honeymooning in Israel,” he told the British edition of OK! magazine. “We’re travelling all over the country to different holy sites for a bit of spirituality and a bit of relaxing. We’re both active, adventurous people so the idea of lounging at a resort with a fruity drink for more than a day makes us stir crazy.” (C) Cover Media
