Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied enjoyed a "whirlwind" honeymoon in a tropical paradise.

The couple exchanged vows last month at an intimate ceremony in Big Sur, California.

Due to the pair's hectic schedule, Natalie and Benjamin were only recently able to schedule a romantic getaway to Turks and Caicos.

"This break was very precious to them, even though it was very brief," a friend revealed to Life & Style. "It's typical of them -- even their honeymoon was a whirlwind!"

The trip was also a family affair with the newlyweds bringing along 15-month-old son, Aleph along.

A nanny also joined the traveling lovebirds, allowing the two to sneak in some romantic alone time during the five-day vacation.

"Ben grabbed Natalie and brought her out sailing," a witness explained. "They enjoyed a very romantic moment as they headed toward the horizon together. They just kept kissing and looked really in love."

Natalie, 31, met 35-year-old choreographer Benjamin on the set of Black Swan in 2009.

The pair welcomed Aleph into their lives in June 2011.
