Jane Lynch has been playing her new dog "soothing music" to calm him down.

The actress and her wife Lara Embry recently adopted a puppy called Francis. He has proved to be quite a handful and the couple have started to embrace some unusual methods to help him relax.

"At her vet's suggestion [Jane] has hired a dog trainer/walker to keep the pooch active and engaged," a source told National Enquirer.

"And whenever she and her wife leave Francis alone in the house, they switch on soothing music to alleviate stress."

One of the problems with Francis is his unusual taste buds. The pooch enjoys sniffing out unsavoury items when he is being walked in public and has a particular penchant for other dogs' mess.

"Jane says the worst part is that she can't take the pup to the park because he's like a kid in a candy store he can't get enough," the insider giggled.
