Veteran Bollywood writer Javed Akhtar who has penned several songs and scripts for films, is upset with modern Indian filmmakers and the influence of west in Indian films.
He who has been in the film industry for over four decades now, recently graced the CII Media and Entertainment Summit 2012, where they celebrated 100 years of existence of the Indian film industry.
Talking about the modern Indian films, Javed exclaimed that our films are losing its USP, as filmmakers today choose to make shorter films without many songs in it.
"The songs today are not the main attraction like before. They are being played in the background and not included in the films at all. The movies are shorter. Indian films are losing their identity. Songs are integral to Indian films. They are removing what is the USP of Indian films," said Javed.
We hope the new age filmmakers take a note of this complaint coming from a veteran like Javed Akhtar and do the needful.
